If a marker is wrong or a page has changed, write to contact@joinmune.com and we will check it and correct it. A match means the same protein is on our panel. Related means we measure a precursor or a subunit rather than the analyte named; it is not counted as a match. Some analytes on the other panels are not proteins at all (a prostaglandin, a neurotransmitter, two pterins, a fibrin fragment), which a protein panel does not measure by design; they are marked as such and counted as not covered.

Amatica Health
Amatica RNA Test5,6
Amatica’s main product is not a protein panel. It sequences the RNA in a tube of whole blood and reports gene expression for about 20,000 genes with pathway analysis across 1,500+ pathways, read against the company’s own research cohort.5 That is a different molecule and a different question, so there is no marker to tick: an RNA readout for a gene is not a measurement of the protein in your blood. The section Why we read proteins below sets out how the two relate. The 31 Marker Test above is the company’s second product, sold separately.4,6

Why we read proteins
Amatica’s foundation is RNA: the activity of about 20,000 genes in a tube of whole blood, with the 31-protein panel sold as a second test.5,7 Mune Mirror™ reads proteins, 1,000+ of them, each as an absolute concentration against a healthy reference.1,2 We chose the molecule on purpose. This is the reasoning, and the literature it rests on.
Proteins are what the body acts with. A gene’s RNA is an instruction; the protein is the thing that signals, binds, clots or inflames. Across thousands of genes the amount of RNA predicts the amount of protein only loosely, because translation, turnover and secretion differ gene by gene; a 2016 review in Cell concluded that transcript levels by themselves are not sufficient to predict protein levels in many scenarios, and a study of human cells and tissues the same year found the two correlate only once a gene-specific conversion factor is applied.12,13
A tube of blood holds the RNA of blood cells only. Whole-blood RNA comes from the cells in the tube. Before globin depletion, haemoglobin messages from immature red cells made up 52 to 76% of all transcripts counted in one study,14 and a classic study of healthy volunteers found that a major source of variation in whole-blood expression between people was the mix of cell types in the sample, the share of neutrophils above all.15 The proteins in plasma come from everywhere: liver, vessel lining, brain, muscle, gut and fat as well as immune cells. An acute-phase protein made by the liver, or a neurofilament shed by a neuron, has no RNA to read in a blood tube.
A concentration is a number you can keep. Mune Mirror™ reports each protein as a calibrated pg/mL value placed against a healthy reference, so a second test is comparable to the first and to the clinical literature, where the markers doctors already use (CRP, ferritin, troponin) are proteins measured in concentrations.2 RNA sequencing yields relative counts normalised within each batch and read against a cohort; Amatica describes its subgroup analysis as exploratory and evolving as its dataset grows.5,6
Some of the most cited recent long COVID evidence is protein evidence. Two widely cited recent studies measured proteins in blood: a 2024 paper in Science profiled more than 6,500 serum proteins and found persistent complement dysregulation with signs of thromboinflammation,16 and a 2023 paper in Nature distinguished long COVID through immune profiling that included circulating cytokines and hormones.17 Eve Diagnostics’ long COVID page cites the Nature study too.11
What RNA can show that a protein panel cannot. Gene expression sees inside cells: interferon-stimulated genes switching on, mitochondrial programmes, cell states that never reach the plasma. That is a real strength, the two readouts are complementary, and Amatica sells both. Our position is narrower than “one is right”: for a test you take at home from a few drops of blood and repeat over months, protein is the molecule that gives a stable, absolute, clinically legible number. That is the test we built.
Price, for scale. Amatica’s 31 Marker Test is listed at £1,125 including UK fulfilment, with the blood draw arranged and paid separately, and its FAQ lists it at $1,475;4,6 Eve’s Long COVID Vascular Health Panel at $219.95 and its 95-plex panel at $395.95, currency not stated.9,10 Mune Mirror™ founding tiers start at $199 for a first kit and the regular price is $549: one payment, nothing renews. The ladder on the reservation page shows which tier is open now; the full side-by-side table is on How Mune Mirror™ compares.
